Picture Browser View

The Picture Browser is the first view you'll see when Asclepius starts. Use this view to locate folders and pictures you'd like to view or work with.

Legends

The picture contains sound clip. Click on headphone to play and listen to sound clips.

The picture is a Asclepius developed picture. It will be locked and cannot be saved again in the Picture Development View. If the picture contains sound clip, it can still be played in Picture Development View or Slide Show with Automatically Play Sound Clip option selected.

The picture is tagged with Asclepius settings. When opened in Picture Development View these settings will be applied.

Buttons

Print Print preview selected pictures. Note that if no selection is made all pictures in folder will be selected for preview.

Slide Show Begin slide show on selected pictures. Note that if no selection is made all pictures in folder will be selected for slide show.

Develop
Open selected pictures in Picture Development View.

File

	Add folder to Asclepius...	Add a folder to Asclepius' folder tree. You can rename the node as it appears in the folder tree.
	Remove folder from Asclepius...	Remove a node from Asclepius' folder tree. Note the removed folder will not be deleted.
	Print...	Print pictures from your photo printer.
	Slide Show...	Slide show selected or all pictures in folder.
	Develop...	Take you to the Development View where you can edit and enhance pictures.
	Exit	Exit Asclepius.

Edit

	Make copy of selected picture(s)	Create duplicate copy of selected pictures(s).
	Delete Selected picture(s)	Delete selected picture(s) from folder.

View

	Show/Hide caption	Show or hide file names.
	Sort by...	Select sorting order for selected folder.
	Refresh	Update contents of selected folder.
	Tranquil/Metallic Theme	Change appearance of Asclepius.

Tools

	Customize Asclepius...	You can select picture quality when you save edited image to a JPEG file. You can also select quality of your audio clips from this tool.
	Fine Tune Asclepius...	Give Asclepius your feedback on how well it's automatic exposure calculation is doing. Base on your feedbacks Asclepius will adjust its internal parameters for exposure calculation.

Picture Development View

You can enhance your pictures with Picture Development View in areas like:

Exposure correction
Adjust color tone
Re-construct sense of depth
Sharpening
Correct common red eye problems
Add sound clips to your pictures

Control Panel

Exposure:

Move the slider to brighten your picture. Asclepius automatically recommends exposure correction for each picture. You can fine tune the this feature from the Main menu.

Color:

Adjust slider to change color temperature of your picture. Move to the right to make your picture warmer. To the left for cooler picture. Default to neutral.

Contrast:

Restore sense of depth of your picture as our naked eye sees it. Due to short coming of our devices this sense is not preserved during the digital camera capture.

Sharpness:

Increase sharpness to your pictures.

Red Eye:

This feature is not enabled if flash is not fired during capture. When enabled, simply click on red eyes in your picture. If it does not correct your red eye problem try pressing the "+" (Booster button) and click on red eye area in picture again. The booster increases detection sensitivity. Use the undo button to erase your last red eye location. Use the redo button to revive the erased location.

Sound Clip:

[Your computer must be setup for audio playback (sound card) to use the playback feature. And it needs audio input ability to record sound clips.]

Press the Play button to listen to sound clips tagged to the pictures

Press the Stop button to stop recording.

Press the Record button to start recording new sound clip. Note that the previous sound clip recorded or loaded from picture will be erased. However it will not erase sound clips tagged to the pictures until you hit the Remember Settings button.

Press the Erase button to erase current sound clip. Note that it will not erase sound clips tagged to the pictures until you hit the Remember Settings button.

Geometry:

Rotate picture in anti-clockwise direction.

Rotate picture in clockwise direction..

Crop picture to remove unwanted portion.

Undo last cropping.

View:

Toggle between full image view (fit picture in viewing area) and zoom image view (zoom into part of picture).

You can view you pictures in single image view (toggle between original picture and Asclepius Developed picture) or view them side by side.

Buttons

Print Print current Asclepius developed picture. Note that one Asclepius Token will be used for each picture printed.

Remember Settings
Attach current settings to the picture without modification to the image. The tagged settings will be applied next time the picture is opened in Development View or slide show with Show Asclepius Developed pictures selected.

Note that the image is not changed in any way so if the tagged picture is viewed with other picture viewing software the original image will be shown.

Settings includes red eye locations and sound clips.

Save Picture
Save developed picture into a new file. Note that the picture will be locked and will not be developed next time this picture is opened in Picture Development View. You'll still be able to play any sound clip tagged to the picture.

This is different from Remember Settings in that the image is actually modified and can be viewed in other picture viewing software.

Saving to (overwriting) the original picture file is not recommended. You should always keep a backup of important pictures before saving to the original picture file.

Browser Back to picture browser.
